🖋 Representative of Rakuraku-Kobo, Hiromichi Honda
I was born in Hiroshima in 1955 as a second-generation atomic bomb survivor. I grew up in Hiroshima City, but my parents long lived in Onomichi, so I would visit Onomichi during Obon and New Year's. I often played in the grounds of Jodo-ji Temple, famous as the setting for Yasujiro Ozu's "Tokyo Story."
I transferred from the Faculty of Engineering to the Department of Russian Literature in the Faculty of Letters, where I studied Tolstoy. My friend Kanbuki and I saw a preview of director Obayashi's "Transfer Student," and were amazed that it began with a view of Onomichi overlooking Senkoji Temple, and that's why I chose Onomichi as the starting point for this novel.
I've always loved books. However, when I read novels that are supposedly read by adults, especially bestsellers, I felt something was different. I liked Kenji Miyazawa, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Saint-Exupéry, and I also liked science fiction. (I have my own preferences when it comes to science fiction.)
For a long time, I worked in the education field and provided computer support. Now that I've mostly retired from those jobs, I've realized that what I want most is to read the books I love and create my own homepages. And also, to write the novels I love...
I started this site to fulfill that desire. I use my own style of system and I write at my own pace. But my policy is not to write commercially, but to write what is truly meaningful and what I want to write. That is my policy.
